Dadasaheb Phalke

PROJECT SNAPSHOT

Type: Collaboration with St'Art India

 Size: 156ft X 126ft

Location: Mumbai

Year: 2014

The Mural doesn’t exist anymore.

Had it not been for Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema, we would quite possibly have not known how mesmerisingly beautiful the celluloid world is. Yet, he remains an unsung hero, especially in Mumbai’s timeline. We chose to change this by painting his mural on the MTNL building, an unmissable city landmark, in association with the st+art Mumbai festival. 10 days, 2 boom lifts and 800 litres of paint, was what it took us to create this masterpiece until it was finally unveiled by Amitabh Bachchan.
